Poha/ Aval Snack

Aval/Poha/rice flakes with jaggery and coconut is a quick to make tasty snack served with Banana.

Ingredients:
Aval/Poha( Rice flakes) : 300g
Jaggery : 200gm
Grated Coconut :1cup
Cardamom Powder : 1/2tsp
White Sesame Seeds : 1 tsp
Vegetable Oil : 1Tbsp

Directions:

  • Sprinkle water on the poha/rice flakes until they wet enough but still flaky and keep it aside for 3 minutes. This helps to soften the rice flakes. 
  • Melt Jaggery in a pan with half a cup of water until it becomes a sticky syrup.
  • Add the grated coconut to the jaggery syrup and mix well.
  • Add the Poha, Sesame seeds and sprinkle the Cardamom powder 
  • Mix it well till the poha is coated with jaggery.
  • Serve it cool.
PS:You may store this in the refrigerator for upto a month.
