Aval/Poha/rice flakes with jaggery and coconut is a quick to make tasty snack served with Banana.
Aval/Poha( Rice flakes) : 300g
Jaggery : 200gm
Grated Coconut :1cup
Cardamom Powder : 1/2tsp
White Sesame Seeds : 1 tsp
Vegetable Oil : 1Tbsp
White Sesame Seeds : 1 tsp
Vegetable Oil : 1Tbsp
Directions:
- Sprinkle water on the poha/rice flakes until they wet enough but still flaky and keep it aside for 3 minutes. This helps to soften the rice flakes.
- Melt Jaggery in a pan with half a cup of water until it becomes a sticky syrup.
- Add the grated coconut to the jaggery syrup and mix well.
- Add the Poha, Sesame seeds and sprinkle the Cardamom powder
- Mix it well till the poha is coated with jaggery.
- Serve it cool.
